Charter Bank is celebrating a quarter of a century year of success since it began as a de novo bank in June of 1998 by local investors and local staff in Johnston—a new startup bank—not a branch of an existing bank. Grimes Charter Bank opened in 2000, Waukee in 2001 and Ankeny in 2017 where our local staff includes high school and college interns as tellers, personal & business bankers, loan officers and market managers.
